Riley Strom es una artista visual afincada entre Los Angeles, California y Nueva York, EUA. En 2013 se licenció en BB.AA. en el Sarah Lawrence College. En 2014, Riley fue cofundadora de la Galeria 99¢ Plus en Brooklyn, Nueva York. Vivió en Philadelphia en donde cursó el Master de Pintura en la Tyler School of Art. Ahora mismo, Strom produce principalmente pintura en los que explora la gestualidad y transparencia del pigmento, así como los conceptos de memoria, performance e identidad.

En su proyecto Albero, el objetivo de Riley Strom fue observar y reproducir Castilblanco de los Arroyos mediante la abstracción.

En su residencia en lagos Strom ha decidido tomar ventaja de encontrarse en un nuevo espacio para enfocarse en la inmolación de la especificidad de la luz y el color que caracterizan la región donde se encuentra la residencia. Riley premezcla la paleta para sus cuadros en cada una de las localizaciones de acuerdo con los colores del paisaje y la hora del día. Después utiliza esta paleta en el estudio para crear en papel, produciendo composiciones completamente abstractas o bien usando motivos vivenciales del espacio y la arquitectura civil y del terreno natural de la CDMX.

Riley Strom is a visual artist based in Los Angeles, California and New York, USA. In 2013 she received her BA in BA from Sarah Lawrence College. In 2014, Riley co-founded 99¢ Plus Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. She lived in Philadelphia where she received her MFA in Painting from the Tyler School of Art. Currently, Strom primarily produces paintings in which she explores the gesturality and transparency of pigment, as well as the concepts of memory, performance and identity.

In his Albero project, Riley Strom's goal was to observe and reproduce Castilblanco de los Arroyos through abstraction.

In his residency at lagos Strom has decided to take advantage of being in a new space to focus on the immolation of the specificity of light and color that characterize the region where the residency is located. Riley premixes the palette for his paintings in each of the locations according to the colors of the landscape and the time of day. He then uses this palette in the studio to create on paper, producing either completely abstract compositions or using experiential motifs of space and civil architecture and the natural terrain of the CDMX.
