Berlin

The lagos | Berlin Program takes place in the vibrant Charlottenburg district of Berlin and is aimed at visual artists, curators, writers, and cultural agents with a solid body of work. The residency focuses on providing a professional space for exhibition, projection, and international visibility, with the goal of allowing artists to present their work under conditions equivalent to those of a contemporary gallery. In addition, residents will have the opportunity to establish connections with curators, collectors, artists, and other key figures in the contemporary art world, participating in parallel activities such as talks and professional visits. During the residency, artists will receive technical and curatorial support from Luis Carrera-Maul, director of Lagos, which will enhance the development and presentation of their projects. Additionally, they will be able to integrate into local and international professional networks through the Lagos I Platform. The residency is open year-round, with durations ranging from 1 to 3 months, and monthly fees include all basic services.

Located in the heart of Charlottenburg —one of Berlin’s most dynamic cultural districts— the lagos | Berlin residency offers a privileged environment for professional artists looking to present, exhibit, and expand their artistic practice within an international context. Surrounded by some of the city’s most influential galleries, the residency space is conceived not only as a place of work but also as a catalyst for visibility, dialogue, and professional growth since the gallery-studio has a street-facing window and ground-level entrance.
