Mexico City

The lagos | CDMX program offers a unique opportunity to develop a solid creative process, with the support of our dedicated team and the guidance of our Chief Curator, olgaMargarita dávila. With her extensive experience working closely with artists, she guides them towards a deeper dimension of their practice and helps them achieve their goals.

Our residency program is open to artists and curators working in any artistic medium (visual, sound, digital, or performance). In addition, residents have the opportunity to join Lagos I Platform for the dissemination and commercialization of their work.

Leveraging the extensive networks of the city, lagos will organize visits to numerous studios, galleries, and museums, along with other events designed to connect art professionals for collaboration and exchange.

We believe in the power of art as a sensitive and critical tool to transform reality. At the heart of our program is the experience of shared space: a dynamic environment where artists work side by side, fostering dialogue, collaboration, and mutual learning.

A residency focused on the city´s vibrant art scene and connecting

Unlike residencies that focus solely on production, lagos | CDMX offers a sensitive approach to collectivity, enabling:

  • Portfolio presentation at the beginning of each residency and an Open Studio at the end of each residency, attended by the Lagos community and special guests such as artists and curators. Artists who complete a 3-month stay will have the opportunity to have a solo show.

  • Connection with the artistic community of Mexico City including fellow Artists-in-Residence, curators, producers and cultural spaces as well as international professional networks.

  • Visits to art galleries, museums and exclusive events related to the contemporary art scene of the city.

  • Personalized curatorial and logistical support by Chief Curator olgaMargarita dávila.

  • Developing personal or collaborative projects in an environment of focus, immersion, and professional support.

  • Strategic dissemination through Lagos platforms.

  • Preferential rates for future residencies at other lagos locations.
