Curatorial Team
Violeta Horcasitas is a curator, researcher, and artistic project advisor. Her practice focuses on accompanying creative processes from a critical perspective, helping artists identify the underlying questions in their work, build a solid narrative, and develop professional positioning strategies tailored to their interests.
Her methodology combines curatorial tools, research, portfolio editing, and conceptual analysis to strengthen both artistic production and the way it is communicated. Rather than offering definitive answers, she provides a space for conversation where the artistic process can be interpreted with greater clarity and projected toward new contexts of circulation.
She has developed curatorial projects, educational programs, and mentoring processes with artists at various stages of their careers, driven by the conviction that curating can also serve as a form of guidance and knowledge production.
Consultations are available both in person and online, adapting to the needs and location of each artist.
Olga Margarita Dávila is a relational artist who works as a curator, manager, educator, and art writer. For 30 years, she has brought visibility to the work of hundreds of artists—especially women—through exhibitions, publications, symposiums, dialogues, and pedagogical processes. Her practice focuses on fostering and promoting reflection on contemporary art through doing, grounded in a holistic, transversal, feminist, and collaborative perspective. She has worked on independent projects and served as a public official in the Ministries of Culture of Coahuila and Baja California.
She has received awards and honors such as the PAC and FONCA Co-investments. She has published texts in catalogues for artists including Luis Carrera-Maul, Irma Sofía Poeter, Diana Coca, and Mónica Castillo, and has authored books such as Archivo Vivo, Mujeres Artistas de Baja California (Living Archive, Women Artists of Baja California, in collaboration with Patricia Medellín and Daril Fortis) and Sin Título -arte contemporáneo desde Oaxaca- (Untitled -contemporary art from Oaxaca-).
Currently, in addition to serving as the chief curator at lagos | estudios y residencias, she is co-leading a research project with Jacinto Astiazaran on the artist Daniela Gallois (France 1939–Mexico 2006) and developing the Labrar Saberes Pedagogical Program in Ciudad Juárez with Azul Arena.
