September 5 – October 26, 2019

KAVIAR is a collective exhibition of three-dimensional works.

The word caviar comes from the old Turkish khãvyãr, which means carrier of eggs. So nothing stays in its place, it is what might be.

Caviar is obtained by massaging it out of the body, especially the one that is great. With so much history to be rectified behind, it is hard to decipher if its value self sustains by the myth, if it is acquired taste or if it is truly delicious.

Just like art.

For the Gallery Weekend, Lagos opens an exhibition of three dimensional works by the artists who have had production stays in the past year. Showing artworks in the medium of sculpture but with an extended understanding of it, we intend to also reflect upon the processes of art making under the specificity of the residency model that is the core of our project. The pieces are products of longer processes. Simultaneously to the show, an open studio and an end-of-residency presentation, by Ana Segovia and Liv Schulman respectively, will take place.
