Luis Manuel Perea
Luis Manuel Perea is a independent curator, was recently Studio Manager for artist Omar Rodríguez-Graham. With a background in Communication Sciences from La Salle University, he holds a specialization in Project Management and a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art, Markets, and Business from CENTRO and the Sotheby’s Institute of Art. His professional practice seamlessly integrates the operational management of artistic studios with a robust curatorial approach rooted in research and collaboration with both national and international cultural agents. His conceptual framework centers on "announced nostalgia," a perceptual condition where reality is understood as physical memory due to a temporal lag, thereby exploring the inherent fragility of existence. This theoretical vision underpins his prolific recent trajectory, having curated and coordinated significant exhibitions such as Frágil, Salón—which featured over sixty renowned artists—, Derivas del paisaje, and Lo que queda cuando baja la marea. Through these exhibitions, Perea Espinosa reaffirms his commitment to dialogue, mediation, and the strengthening of networks within the current contemporary art ecosystem.
